Entry 18: Hello, Celery Soup
So I know it looks like lately all I’ve been harvesting is celery. And that’s only partly true. It is the main vegetable I’ve been able to harvest but we have been collecting tiny cherry tomatoes that are ripe and onion greens. I tried to include pictures of those but they turned out extremely blurry and I deemed them inadequate (haha because this blog has a certain level of standards to keep up with =]). This early morning I got up and basically harvested one of the plants, the truth being we have four in total and it seems silly to let them keep growing if we don’t even like celery that much. With this one gone it will give the others space to grow, as I expect that I initially planted them too close anyways.
These guys pictured are going into a nice celery and carrot soup. I need to go buy from carrots and white onions because I don’t have those growing in the garden but at least the celery will be garden fresh.
I’m still waiting on the red onions, peppers and tomatoes to ripen or be ready. The lettuce is past it’s prime and I’m just waiting to harvest the seeds that will appear soon. Well that’s all the updates I have for you today. Would love to hear what everyone else is growing and how’s it going!
